CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO THE SHOWGROUNDS
Introduction The General Conditions of Entry to Showgrounds apply to all patrons, spectators, and visitors entering the Showground during any Agricultural Show event. These conditions set out the terms of entry, including safety rules, prohibited items, and patron responsibilities to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful experience for all.
These Conditions of Entry to Showgrounds should be read in conjunction with the Code of Conduct, which outlines the expected behaviour of all individuals attending or participating in Agricultural Show events.
Competitors, exhibitors, traders, and officials are also bound by the General Regulations, which cover participation, competitions, and trade-related requirements.
Document Hierarchy Clause
In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between the provisions of this Member Organisation’s governance and operational documents, the following hierarchy shall apply in determining precedence:
Applicable legislation and statutory requirements;
The Constitution of this Member Organisation;
Any Special Regulations issued by this Member Organisation;
The General Regulations of this Member Organisation;
The Code of Conduct of this Member Organisation;
The Conditions of Entry to Showgrounds of this Member Organisation.
All documents should be read in conjunction with this hierarchy.
1. Conditions of Entry to Showgrounds
a. All patrons enter the Showground at their own risk.
b. The Show Society accepts no responsibility for personal injury, loss, or damage unless directly caused by its negligence.
c. Patrons and Volunteers must comply with all signage and directions from Member Show Societies.
d. Bag checks and security searches may occur in adherence with s4 of the Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901 (NSW)
e. Certain areas are restricted, and unauthorised access is prohibited.
f. Patrons are responsible for the security of their personal belongings.
Dogs must be on a lead at all times, unless in competition
Search and ejection powers in adherence with s4 of the Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901 (NSW).
2. Prohibited Items
Glass containers
Alcohol and illicit drugs
Weapons, fireworks, or flares
Drones, scooters, or bicycles (except mobility aids)
Large eskies or bags
All items listed on the ASA Prohibited Items List
3. Safety and Emergency Procedures
Patrons must follow all safety instructions and signage.
Emergency procedures and assembly areas are displayed throughout the venue.
Hazards and incidents must be reported to staff immediately.
4. Behaviour
Patrons must behave respectfully and in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
Offensive, dangerous, or disruptive behaviour may result in removal.
5. Photography & Media
By entering, patrons consent to being photographed or recorded for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to consent to being photographed, please notify the Show Office.
Commercial photography requires prior written approval from event organisers.
6. Smoking and Vaping
a. Adhere to Smoking and Vaping restrictions as per the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000 (NSW)
b. Smoking and vaping are confined to signed zones.
7. Liability
· The Member Show Society accepts no responsibility for personal injuries, loss or damage unless directly caused by its negligence in accordance with Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Sch 2, s 139A).
7. Dog Owners
Must adhere to signs
Keep their dog on a short leash and collect all droppings
Must not leave their dogs tethered and unaccompanied
Dogs are not permitted to enter any buildings in the Showground and must be kept away from livestock yards and arenas, stabling and food areas.
