Over recent years the Bellingen Show has increased in size and enjoyed a significant growth in attendances. This event, however, will always rely heavily on volunteer support and financial contributions from both individuals and the local business community. Support through sponsorship, advertising in the schedules, or trade stalls on show days helps ensure that the Bellingen Show will continue to meet its objective of engaging with, entertaining and educating the people of the Bellingen Shire.
This year we are introducing a new and exciting way of promoting the Show and providing a more professional way to showcase sponsor’s business. Our new project is a Show Program that will be produced as a 44 page A4 colour magazine that will replace our Show Schedules. These will still be printed but will effectively become listings of the classes and entry information for the four major competition areas of the show, Pavilion, Cattle, Horses and Poultry, and will not contain advertising.
Content in the Show Progam will include background stories on the major show areas as well as information about popular events such as the woodchop competition, the Young Farmer Challenge, Mongrel Dogs, the Partner Carrying Competition, celebrity chefs and cooking demonstrations and much more. The Show Program will also provide the opportunity to reflect on the long history of the Bellingen Show – which has been running since 1881 – and to look at the future of agricultural shows in NSW.
