The Artisan’s Tent is a new initiative at the Bellingen Show. The Tent will host local potters, weavers and spinners, as well as artists working with a variety of materials including mosaics, felting and lead lighting.
Throughout the weekend there will be live demonstrations and displays as well as short talks from makers and producers. Potters will be showing how the potter’s wheel works and how to throw a pot, while kids can get creative and make their own masterpiece in clay! You will get a glimpse into how lead lighting is done, everything you wanted to know about print making, tie dying and even beekeeping. Don’t miss it!
The Blacksmiths won’t be in the tent but they will be back at the show this year at their usual spot in the shed next to the Hammond Street gate. This year they have a special project – making “nails for peace”. These are forged nails with a “peace dove” embossed on the head. Proceeds from the sale of these nails will go to support world peace initiatives and Ukrainian refugees
